Good Practices in Environmental Work in Municipal Cultural Services

A study presenting the environmental actions taken by more than 100 municipal cultural services in all parts of Finland.

The report Kuntien kulttuuripalveluiden ympäristötyön hyvät käytännöt (Good Practices in Environmental Work in Municipal Cultural Services) showcases environmental practices by cultural services in Finnish municipalities.

The examples are categorised into six themes: properties and facilities, transport and logistics, procurement and materials, food and catering, advocacy and environmental education, and environmental management. The report includes good practices from municipal and supported libraries, arts and cultural institutions, cultural centres and houses, basic art education and art schools, as well as general cultural activities.

The study complements the action proposals outlined in the creatice sector’s action plan Fostering sustainability with concrete examples.

The summary was compiled by the Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council as part of the Luoto project, funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU programme.
